Angamaly is a town in Ernakulam district of Kerala, it is one of the rapidly growing town in kerala. It's famous as the intersection of Main Central road and National Highway 47. Also a Municipality and a Legislative Assembly constituency in Ernakulam district.

Starting as a Panchayat in May 1952, Angamaly was raised to a municipality in April 1978. Situated 33 km north of Ernakulam, Angamaly is the northern gateway to the commercial capital of Kerala.

Angamaly serves as a transit point for various places of interest in central Kerala, which include Kalady, Malayattoor, Kothamangalam, Muvattupuzha, Thuravoor, Manjapra and Munnar, Paravoor.

Angamaly is the fastest growing town in Kerala, thanks for the proximity of International Airport, railway station and two major roads passing through. With so many panchayaths near by and its population depending on Angamaly is making it a business hub. There is a proposed railway line from Angamaly to Sabarimala which will connect the high-ranges with the low land, which in turn will improve the economy of the entire region.

Angamaly has an industrial estate at the southern part of it at South Angamaly which has numerous renowned factories. There are so many old churches, famous hospitals, temples and educational institutions which are pride to the local population. The new Catholic church built at the heart of the town is regarded as the biggest of its kind in India.

Angamali is enriched with cultural and devotional centres. Most of the peoples are Roman Catholic. Hindus and other communities are also there like any other towns in Kerala. A small branch of "Chalakkudy Puzha" flows through Angamali which is leading to Manjali. Once upon a time this was consider as the major trade centre. The name itself is "Angadikadavu". Another major fact about Angamali is that it is the nearest town to the Cochin International Airport. This nearness has in fact made a boom time for Angamali. The real estate prices are up sky high and the amount of traffic passing through in one day in unbelievable. Metro city Kochi is 34 km and Cultural city Trissur is 42 km from this town.
