It is famous for Bhagavathi temple which comes under Travancore Devaswaom Board. Because of the wealth it carries Devaswam board upgraded this temple to major temple. Bhagavathy in this temple is very powerful. The festival in this temple is in January or February. The auditorium in this temple was open for the devotees of Sabarimala on the season.

Kalady
India`s great philosopher Adi Sankaracharya of 8th century was born at Kalady. It is quiet place near Angamaly and very near to Malyattoor. Kalady is the tiny village of beautiful green fields and section of Western Ghats. It is in the right bank of river Periyar that is the source of power and water in Kerala. It is considered to be a holy place due to Adi Sankara who made this place world famous. It is a place throbbing with history and life of Adi Sankara, recently opened Nedumbassery International Airport, the Sankara stupa, Sanskrit University and Malayattoor.
It is a very important pilgrimage place having 3 temples, one of them dedicated to the great expounder of the Advaita philosophy of India.
The Sharadadevi temple is a prominent land mark of Kalady. Sri SANKARACHRYA STUPA (Pillar) is located nearby. This Stupa gives the life history of Sankaracharya. It has 168 feet height and bottom diameter of 62 feet.

Kodanadu
Kodanad is one of the important places in the tourist map of Kerala. Kodanad, a beautiful and charming semi-rural village situated on the south bank of river Periyar, about 50 kilometers east of Kochi(Cochin), Kerala. Kodanad, the head quarters of Malayattur forest division, is known for the Elephant 'Kraal' and elephant ride is provided here. A mini zoo is situated here.
Church is situated a top the 609 m high Malayatoor Hill. The church is dedicated to St. Thomas, who is believed to have prayed at this shrine. One of the most important Christian pilgrim centres in Kerala, this holy shrine attracts devotees in very large numbers not only from Kerala but also from the neighbouring states. This famous church is situated at Kurisumudi, a verdant hill in the Western Ghats girdled partially by the river Periyar. The Church has a life-size statue of St. Thomas and the imprint of the feet of the Apostle on rock. This shrine has now been accorded an international pilgrimage station.
Several pilgrims visit this place to climb the hill which was sanctified by the feet of St. Thomas. Malayattoor Festival is during the month of March-April. Situated beside the Periyar river and a small lake called Manappattuchira, Malayatoor is also a place of scenic beauty.
Athirappilly Waterfalls
It is in Chalakudy the nearest town of Angamaly. It is the most attracting waterfalls of the State. It has a width of 400 meters and falls 80 metres down on the rock. It is an enchanting experience for any visitor. The lovely forest and cool water makes a peaceful mind.
Vazhachal
It is 7 km from the Riverock Villas. With the abundant flora and even herbal plantation maintained by the forest department, Vazhachal is the Botanist`s treasure trove.
